关于副词用作表语

原则上说，连系动词后接形容词作表语，不接副词作表语。如：[1]形容词,动词,相关知识点

ready为形容词，而不像中文中准备为动词。［误］ You must ready at once.［正］ You must be ready at once.［析］ ready为形容词，而不像中文中准备为动词。

误：His English is very well. 他的英语很好。(应将 well 改为 good)
误：Be carefully. 小心点。(应将 carefully 改为 careful)[2]careful单词记忆法

◆记忆方法一：联想方式：care（关心）；ful（形容词后缀）care的形容词形式。◆记忆方法二：联想方式：care（关心）；ful（形容词后缀）记忆方法：care的形容词形式。

误：The soup tastes nicely. 这汤味道不错。(应将 nicely 改为 nice)
但是，有时连系动词后也可接副词作表语，这主要限于in, on, off, out, away, behind, up, down, over, through, around, round, below, inside, outside 等少数副词小品词以及 here, there, upstairs, downstairs 等少数表示地点或方位的副词：
Is your mother in? 你母亲在家吗？
Everyone is here now. 现在大家都到齐了。
I must be off now. 我现在得走了。


知识点2:副词可用于系动词后作表语吗

Neither of them is here. 他们俩都不在这里。
She was abroad all last summer. 她去年整个夏天都在国外。
The office that deals with passports is upstairs. 办护照的办公室在楼上。[3]passport单词记忆法

◆记忆方法一：联想方式：pass通过，port港口记忆方法：出国要持护照通过港口。◆记忆方法二：词根词缀记忆法：passport n 护照（pass+port港口→通过港口的凭证→护照）,Pass=pass through,表示“通过”

If he was downstairs, why didn’t he answer the bell? 他要是在楼下，为何不开门呢?
2. 与介词同形的小品词有也可用作表语，如in, on, off, out, by, away, behind, up, down, over, through, around, round, below, inside, outside 等。如 ：
Make sure the lid is on. 确信要把盖子盖上。
The engagement is off. 婚约取消了。
The taxi is outside. 出租车在外面。
The grocery was below. 杂货店在下面。[4]grocery单词记忆法

◆记忆方法一：谐音：果肉稍微 食品杂货店卖的果肉稍微有点涩。

The level of unemployment is down. 失业率在下降。
I phoned Sally but she was out. 我给萨莉打电话，可是她不在。
He hid the money when nobody was by. 附近没人时他把钱藏了起来。
By the time we arrived the meeting was over. 我们到达时，会议已结束了。
He was left in charge of the shop while the manager was away. 经理不在时，他负责这个商店。



知识点3:哪些副词可用作表语

注意，这类副词通常只用于连系动词be 后作表语，而不用于其他连系动词后作表语，如：
正：He is here. / He is abroad.
误：He seems here. / He seems abroad.
个别引申用法除外。如：
I feel down today. 我今天情绪很低沉。
He looks awfully down. 他显得情绪很低。
