知识点1:can 和 may 的用法区别
1. can 和 may 均可用来征求意见或许可，意为“可以”， 一般可互换使用。例如：
Can / May I help you? 我能帮助你吗？
2. can 和may 表示可能性时的区别：
1) 在肯定句中用 might，may，must，不用can。

A：Who’s that at the door? 门外是谁呀?
B：It can only be the postman. 只能是邮递员。（can only与must相似）
2. may表推测时通常用于肯定句或否定陈述句，一般不用于疑问句。如：
He may be in his office now. 他现在说不定在办公室里。
Other people may not think that way. 别的人可能不这样想。

二、意思方面的区别
上面提到，can表推测时主要用于否定句和疑问句，may表推测时主要用于肯定句和否定式。尽管两者均可用于否定句，但是含义有所不同。
