两者用作副词时的用法与区别如下：
1. 表示“清晰地”“不模糊地”，两者常可换用。如：
It’s too dark to see clear(ly). 太黑了，看不清楚。
He spoke loud(ly) and clear(ly). 他说得既宏亮又清楚。
但是，若有程度副词修饰，通常要用 clearly。如：
He spoke quite [very] clearly. 他说得很清楚。
2. clear 可表示“完全地”“一直地”。此时不用 clearly。如：
The prisoner escaped clear away. 囚犯逃得无影无踪。
He climbed clear to the top of the tree. 他一直爬到树顶。
注：以上用法中的 clear 有时可与用作副词 clean 换用。
3. clearly 可表示“显然地”(修饰句子)。此时不能用 clear。如：
