  • police的复数-police单数还是复数?

    police没有复数形式。police通常表示“警察部队”,“警方”这样的含义,是一个集体名词。若表示个别的、具体的“警官”,则用a police officer,或a policeman/policewoman,复数形式是police officers/policemen/policewomen。
    指警察时往往前面有定冠词 the,指“多个警察”时,前面有时有数词,有时没有。可以说a few police, six or sevenpolice 。例如:
    We have reported the matter to the police.
    我们将这件事报告了警察。
    Several hundred police were on duty in the street.
    几百名警察在街上执行任务。
    注意:police作主语时,谓语动词应该是复数形式。例如:
    The police are looking for the little boy.
