    graduate的用法说明

    1. 在英国和美国用法有所不同:在英国主要指取得学位的大学毕业,在美国可指所有学校(包括大学中学等)毕业。在英国,除大学以外的毕业,通常用 finish school, leave school 等。
    2. 在现代英语中,主要用作不及物动词,表示从某校毕业,在英国英语中其后接介词at,在美国英语中其后接介词from。如:
    He graduated at Oxford. 他毕业于牛津大学。
    She was graduated with honors from Harvard University. 她以优异成绩毕业于哈佛大学。
    若表示毕业于某专业,其后接介词in。如:
    He graduated in medicine. 他医科毕业。
    在美国英语中,可用作及物动词,意为“使毕业”“准予毕业”,多用于被动语态。如:
    Smith (was) graduated from Harvard. 史密斯毕业于哈佛大学。
