　 7. delete [ di5 li:t ] 电脑上的del键即为delete的缩写；vt. 删除 The document has been deleted by mistake. 那份文档已被无意中删除了。
8. abolish [ E5bCliF] a-bol-ish, 音“噢，不！”，不能用，则废除，vt. 废止, 废除(法律、制度、习俗等) The law in favor of discrimination should be abolished at once. 有歧视倾向的法律应该马上废除。
9. abortion [ E5bC:FEn ] 音“噢，不行！”，不行的，n. 失败, 夭折, 中止 The abortion of the plan is due to the shortage of money. 计划的夭折原因在于缺钱。
10. leave out 省去, 遗漏, 不考虑 These details are not necessary and can be left out.这些细节并不必要，可以省去。
11. delay [ di5lei] de-lay, 现在不能放，To cause to be later or slower than expected or desired v. 耽搁, 延迟, 延期 Heavy traffic delayed us. 拥挤的交通耽搁了我们。
12. postpone [ pEust5pEun ] To delay until a future time; put off post-pone, 推迟放，vt. 推迟, 使延期 They decided to postpone sending an answer to the company. 他们决定延期答复该公司。
另类阅读：
Mr. Li canceled the dinner party and decided to delay publishing his book about cancer. He would leave out some unnecessary information and delete some chapters. As it’s hard to remove the cancer once it formed in the body, he advised abolishing unhealthy habits. Of course his book wouldn’t be an abortion.
